I worked with a client today who came upon a small object made of hard plastic. He didn’t know what it was. He tried to remember.
He’d found it in the back of a cubby-hole in a closet. The only thing he was able to remember was it was expensive.
I suggested since he didn’t know what it was, and he wasn’t using and loving it, he let it go. He said he didn’t want to because he as sure it was expensive.
I said he was worth vast sums more than anything in his home. Not in money value but in pure pricelessness. The cost of of any of his possessions meant nothing. It either had to serve him today, or it was trash and needed to go.
With peace of mind, he let it go.
