I’m sitting in my office, looking out the window at tall bamboo trees. The trees are growing upright together in a clump. Reflected in the window panes, superimposed over the trees, are three light bulbs from a tall lamp in my office. It looks like the bamboo trees are shining lights out from themselves, so they can see what’s going on around them.
I wanted to share what’s going on in my mind this morning. I have a pretty good fantasy mind. I get a lot of creative delight from the things around me.
My laptop computer that I’m typing to you on is sitting on a wood desk. Because the desk is horizontal, my mind imagines that the tree the wood came from is sleeping. It doesn’t realize that it’s become a desk. I’m typing quietly so as to not wake it up.
There’s a rock on the window sill. I got the rock from a trip I took a ways back to Sedona, Arizona. I’ve had the rock for a while, so I’ve developed an affinity with it. It’s charming to me. As I look at it now, it feel like it’s looking at me. We are chums.
I imagine I can feel you reading these words. As you read this, you realize I know you are there. You get a surprising jolt. Could we be shaking hands through our hearts?
Life, can be pretty interesting, once we start taking a look around.
