In our front yard used to be a tremendously large spiky bush. It wasn’t beautiful. It grew fast and needed regular trimming. For some reason we tolerated it. There wasn’t a thought, “Let’s get rid of this.”
And then one day there was the thought, “Let’s get rid of this bush.” It was very clear it was time for it to go. So I wore super thick gloves and carefully cut it back to the ground and removed the roots.
The empty space was astoundingly peaceful. That’s the great feeling after some heavy clutter goes.
I left the space empty until it came to me what to put in the new space. “A lavender bush!” That’s the one that’s featured in the picture. It feels so good in the space!
