There’s smoke in the air. We’re a few hours from any forest fires, but the smoke here is pretty bad. The sky is gray. I’m mostly staying inside. I make sure to where an N95 particle mask when I go out. Because I had a lung transplant some years back, I have to be extra careful about my lungs. But from what I’ve heard, the air here is as bad as really polluted areas in China and India, so it seems like a particle mask would be good for anyone who goes outside.
I feel for the people who lost their homes and loved ones. It reminds me of how vulnerable we are. We can be hurt. It helps me to remember to take care of myself. “Remember, you’re not invincible. Please be tender. Do what you need to do to feel and be okay.”
