When I was a kid I didn’t like coloring books. I didn’t like the lines. They took away from what I drew. So what I did was put a sheet of paper over the coloring book page and I drew in the area of those shapes. I reinterpreted the shapes. That made me feel free.
When I was a kid I didn’t have an answer for what I wanted to do when I grew up. I made up answers when I was asked what I wanted to be. I think I might have said a policeman. When I got to high school, I thought I would go to college, but I didn’t think of what I would study. It seemed like something to do. I picked a college in Washington DC because I thought it would be nice to live in that city.
I didn’t enjoy it and left school after a year and a half. I took some time off. Then I went to a college where the teachers and faculty meditated. That was nice for a while. I got a degree in art because I like creativity.
I still don’t think about what I want to be.
