There’s a road in my town that I find interesting. For a half mile stretch, on one side of the road are homes. On the other side is a graveyard. I enjoy experiencing that contrast. There’s the currently living across the street from the no-longer living.
It’s a friendly reminder to me that there’s life, which I’m currently experiencing. And that at some point, that experience of life for me will be gone.
It makes me feel lucky that I have life. Or that life has me. I’m here. Seeing the opposite reminds me of this great and current benefit.
