For so long, things took precedent over us. We were told things are more important than us. That we are not enough as we are.
But if we are lucky, at some point we begin questioning that way of thinking and living. We begin to get tired of playing second fiddle to what’s in our life.
We begin to put our needs first.
Take a chance by taking a look. Begin to look around at what’s in your life. “What have I gathered around me? Do I actually like it? How do I truly feel about what’s in my surroundings?”
By asking yourself, you practice putting yourself first. It may feel uncomfortable at first because it’s a new way of doing things. But the old way of acquiring and holding on didn’t feel good, so it’s time for something different. You can’t go wrong by listening to yourself in this way.
Thank you, Brooks. This is a new and welcome perspective.
You’re welcome, Melissa!
