We had two trees fall in our yard during a storm this past spring. I planted some clippings and seeds in that area after the trees and roots were removed. I had high hopes that my attempts at landscaping would pay off beautifully. But all the clippings died, and none of the seeds sprouted. I was disappointed.
The funny thing is, about three weeks ago, a tomato plant started growing in the vacant area. I didn’t plant any tomato seeds. Somehow it happened. And it’s doing well. And it’s beautiful to behold.
It made me think about how I sometimes try to control how I want a situation to work out, and it often takes its own path. Life has a way of developing and implementing its own design.
